The Doctor is a Time Lord who ran away from his home planet Gallifrey to have adventures through time and space in his police box time machine, the TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimensions In Space). In his adventures he quite often ends up battling monsters and saving planets. He shares these adventures with friends which he calls companions, His current companion Laura saw him regenerate into his latest incarnation.
